Equity in Fundraising
Organizations led by people of color have historically had — and continue to have — less access to philanthropic funding and institutional resources than their white-led counterparts. This is not incidental. Philanthropy, as a system, has deep and consequential roots in white supremacy and capitalism. It has reinforced racial inequities even while aiming to solve social problems. I believe that we, especially white fundraisers and consultants, can help change that.
I offer a discount on fundraising services to BIPOC-led organizations with annual budgets under $500,000. This is one way I try to reduce financial barriers and support organizations doing critical justice work with fewer resources.
